Our care recommendations

In order to keep your product looking and fitting its best, we recommend frequently maintaining it by following the tips below. By following these instructions, you will increase the life of your product and help prevent any unnecessary damage which may not be covered by our Warranty.

• Always store your product in a case to avoid accidental scratches or damage.

• Avoid the use of chemical or household cleaners as these may damage or ruin your product. We recommend gently cleaning your product with the microfiber cloth supplied.

• Avoid wearing your product on your head as this may cause stretching and increase the risk of accidental damage.

• Acetate products are susceptible to high temperatures and heat. Do not leave products in in an environment where temperatures may exceed 50 degrees celsius (such as a hot car or in direct sunlight) for extended periods of time- this will void your warranty.

• Products with a matte finish are porous and susceptible to damage by oils and moisturisers. Please take care as some make-ups can have an irreversible effect on matte surfaces.

• Metal frames might cause allergic reactions in people with sensitive skin. We suggest trying these products on in-store if you are susceptible to sensitive skin reactions.

We recommend cleaning your lenses with a professional lens cleaning spray. If you’re after a lens cleaner spray that will suit all Valley Eyewear lenses, use this one from our online store. DO NOT put your frames or lenses into water or use any other non-lens-specific cleaners or chemical cleaners. Lens cleaners can be bought at many pharmacies and department stores. Using a microfibre cloth and spray will help to clean particles and dust from the lenses. It's also a good idea to use pre-moistened lens wipes. Extreme care should be taken when using lens cleaner sprays on matte finish frames. As these frames are not polished and are porous in nature, the lens cleaning sprays may mark the frame.
A certain amount of natural blue light is beneficial to us, as it tells us when to rise and shine, but we are exposed to a lot of artificial blue light every day. Devices such as smartphones, TV, and computer screens produce this artificial blue light, and overexposure to this can interfere with our natural circadian rhythms. This is why blue-light blocking lenses are becoming more popular, alongside the rise of these kinds of technology.
There are a variety of remedies for scratched lenses that can be found online, but they may damage your eyesight and void your warranty. There are products that promise to hide scratches, but they generally wear off quickly and can obscure your vision.
Scratches on your glasses can weaken them over time and cause vision problems. Prevention is always better than cure, so select a pair of scratch-resistant lenses and store them safely. If your lenses are scratched, please reach out to our Customer Service Team who may be able to offer you a solution.
Over time, the screw which holds the arm to your frame may become loose. As we use a special LockTight Screw System, this is a rare occurrence. However, if you do need your screws to be tightened, we recommend visiting your local optician to have them professionally adjusted. Some materials are difficult to adjust and can be fragile, so it is best to leave the adjustment process to an optician.
Do not try to fix your glasses using internet instructions - you will likely damage them and may void your warranty. If you need your sunglasses or glasses adjusted, please contact our Customer Service Team. We use specialist equipment to adjust eyewear frames, as they can be difficult to adjust without it.
All of our goods come with a warranty on manufacturing defects for 2 years after purchase from an authorised retailer. Our 2 Year Manufacturer's Warranty does not cover scratches, accidental damage, or lens breakages. For a full description please consult this page.
